This custom beauty was particularly a cool project because the Violinist wanted our Solitaire fine tuner in Sterling Silver material with a light blue Montana Sapphire stone. She has family in Montana and knew about these beautiful stones that are mined in the gorgeous state.
It just so happened that HyeJun, our Creative Director had made a sourcing trip to the Tucson gem show in Arizona last year right before the pandemic, and met a lovely couple from Montana, with a very cool love story 💕 who mine gorgeous Montana Sapphires, and get them cut into various shapes and sizes.
Their business is called Lewis and Clark Sapphires. The Tucson gem show is the largest gemstone trade show that happens once a year in Tucson, Arizona where many gemstone suppliers, miners and stone cutters from all over the world go to exhibit and sell their work. It is a great resource for materials ranging from Meteorites, Fossils and all kinds of Gemstones.
Because of this connection, it was a seamless process to select the best stone for the budget, virtually through videos and email. It's exciting to be able to share photos of the wonderful humans that produced this Montana Sapphire stone, in the state of Montana. A state we have yet to visit, (closest was when we went to visit the Grand Tetons!) but definitely on our list of places to go someday.
